a haiku, aside from the syllable strucutre, captures a fleeting moment that tends to focus on simple, sensory imagery. haiku evoke sudden insight or emotion, and they frequently juxtpose two images with a cutting word. here are my gatherings:
your skin will shatter
to bits, and within my bones,
grows desperate love
encase your gazing,
i only want you to think
that i'm fantastic
children frolick in
mud and dirt and dismay--
alone in song, together interrupeted
sun hides--
blanketed by the moon
and casting their hue
toes stretch out straight
but stop just short of the wall
yawns of feet tired of shoes
born of pain she clawed
her gentle way in this life,
this long-winded race
bitter hunger and
its satiability
thirst easily quenched
not comfortable
though--hard earned and scraping by
fight the good ol' fight!
eagerness, without
grace, free me from confinement
destined to desire
